Indian poker pro challenges Phil Ivey to $100k match

Will Phil Ivey take the $100,000 bet?

Phil Ivey isn't the type of person to shy away from a bet, especially when it involves money, but the latest challenge from India could have the American pro running for cover.

Of course, we don't actually think Ivey is scared to accept a $100,000 heads-up challenge, but neither do we believe he'll take the time to fly out to India to play a guy who claims he "don't fold to flips, bro." Nevertheless, we did think the video by Ravi Goel was funny enough to actually make a high stakes showdown between the two players worth watching.

Calling Ivey his "baby" and someone not capable of understanding his "range" (mainly because he doesn't understand his own range), this plucky upstart certainly makes an enticing, if somewhat unintelligible, case.

So what are the terms of the bet?

Well, we don't really know, but what we are sure of is the gentleman in the video is willing to play the world's greatest poker player for $100,000. Unfortunately, Ivey is used to playing for that sort of money in a single pot in Las Vegas or Macau, so it's unlikely he'll travel to India for a six-figure payday.

How much would Ivey play for?

Well, given that he recently lost his case against Crockfords Casino, London, to reclaim the ¬£7.7 million he won there in 2012, we'd guess that anything around that figure would entice him to leave his regular games and engage in a HU death match.
