Ziigmund is more laid back live
Despite the seasonal festivities, Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies still managed to appear grumpy.
The temperamental Finn unleashed a verbal volley at Cardrunners pro Cole South after dropping several buy-ins at $100/$200 PLO on Full Tilt Poker. The Omaha specialist cuts a shy, mild-mannered figure in live appearances, but behind his monitor, Ziigmund is a different animal.
December has been a dismal month for Ilari, with the HSDB reporting a $3 million loss over 6,802 hands. But he is still one of the top five winners of 2009, with a cool $3.24 million profit. Compare that with Tom Dwan, who is still stuck $4.17 million, despite a barnstorming end to the year.
Things got ugly last night when the humble South refused to play $300/$600 PLO, insisting he had too much respect for Ziigmund’s aggressive game. The highlight of Ziggy’s banter was his, ‘hope someone shoot the rocket to your eyes in New Year’. Here is the full chat transcript:
Cole South: na sorry 100200 is as big as i can play vs u, ur too good
Ziigmund: huh
Ziigmund: f u
Ziigmund: h8 u
Cole South: respect ur game a lot i dont wanna play that big
Ziigmund: huh
Cole South: just saying i respect ur game a lot, i dont want to play u so high stakes
Cole South: i am happy to keep playing 100200
Ziigmund: u dont even know how f lucky u have been
Cole South: i have been extremely lucky against you
Cole South: completely agree
Ziigmund: hope someone shoot the rocket to your eyes in new year
It’s safe to say South and Sahamies won’t be attending the same New Year’s Eve party.
