Young aggressors to tear up PKR tournament

CrunchPoker Staff - 9 Sep 2009

Some of poker’s freshest faces will line up at the PKR heads up tournament, to be held at the ‘3 Mills Studio’ on October 8th in London. The first-place prize of $100k may not be all the rage for these high stakes adrenaline junkies, but the publicity will -certainly for the very outspoken Luke ‘FullFlush1’ Schwartz.

Managing director of Matchroom Sport (the company responsible for organising the tourney) Eddie Hearn beamed, ‘We have been looking at creating a heads-up event for a while now and I'm excited that we have the formula just right’. The tournament will emulate the format of NBC’s National Heads up Championship in America, which was won by Huck Seed this year.

British pro Rolande de Wolfe, female star Annette Obrestad, J.C Tran, Nam Le and Andrew Feldman are all set to feature. Esteemed poker journalist and PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren will also participate. But the real mouth-watering prospect is that of Luke Schwartz and Tom Dwan clashing.

Although his insults may be a bit tongue in cheek, the opinionated Schwartz is not a fan of Tom Dwan. He frequently refers to him as a ‘geek’ and a ‘donk’ in interviews. Here is a clip of Schwartz berating Dwan at the Monte Carlo Millions earlier this year:
