Dwan challenged to $2 million prop bet

More in the world of wacky prop bets: recreational poker player Mike Hall has made a $2 million proposition to superstar Tom Dwan.

The barbeque judge heralding from Williamsburg, Iowa, released the statement on his own website hatbrat.com. If Hall wins, durrrr has to hand him over $1 million, and an additional $1 million to the Williamsburg Public Library Fund. But if he loses, Hall has pledged to give up poker and barbeque, and work at a fast food outlet for a year. He will also give Dwan his prized possession – a custom built motorcycle.

Meat seems to be a recurring motif when it comes to Tom Dwan proposition bets. On an episode of GSN’s High Stakes Poker earlier this year, durrrr made a $1 million that Phil Ivey couldn’t go vegetarian for a year. Ivey succumbed after just 3 weeks, electing to buy out for $150k. Hall is an esteemed member of the Kansas City Barbeque Society, presiding over 20 barbeque contests, and is known to consume up to 3 pounds of meat in one meal.

Hall, also known as ‘Mikey Knuckles’, is flexible regarding the amount at stake, and will be happy if durrrr accepts the challenge for $150k (the amount he won from Ivey). Hall’s proposition seems like an ambitious marketing stunt, but the meat factor makes it intriguing nonetheless. Despite Dwan’s fearless nature, it is unlikely he will accept, as it would trigger a flurry of prop bet from random members of the public.

Hall’s announcement comes a few days after Cardrunners pro Brian Townsend declared he will confront Dwan in the ‘durrrr challenge’. Dwan is expected to win the first instalment, as he leads Patrik Antonius by $2 million with approximately 15,000 hands left to play.
