Say it isn’t so: No Isildur1 at the Big Game

CrunchPoker Staff - 11 Apr 2010

Despite weeks of build up, the news in the end is disappointing; there will be no Isildur1 at the Party Poker Big Game.

Tony G has to be the most disappointed. Not only did he open the door to the mystery Swede’s identity revelation, not only did he offer to stake him the $100k he needed to play and even suggested he wear a mask if he were so inclinded, for weeks Tony has been touting the mystery man’s guaranteed appearance.

The Big Game is going to be interesting and fun, even without the big reveal. The game pits a bunch of poke rpros against each other in a massive high stakes poker game that will run for 48 hours, and to top it all off each hour someone is getting eliminated Survivor-style by votes from the peers.

Into all this mix throw the possibility of a mask-wearing poker pro that has captured the poker world’s imagination and you’ve got history in the making.

But that isn’t going to happen.

A terse text message to Tony G saying “Sry for not coming, take care bud” ended the hopes of Tony and the rest of the poker playing world.
