The first ever PokerStars EPT Kiev ended with the first ever Russian player to win an EPT event.
Maxim Lykov never seemed to put a foot wrong in his domination of the European Poker Tour event held in the Ukraine. The EPT Kiev was a substitution event for the originally planned EPT Moscow, but nothing about the event felt second rate or like an afterthought.
Even when the cards went against him, the new champ stayed calm and in charge, refocusing on his game and getting things back under control.
Lykov is a young player in his early twenties who is already thinking about his next event. Check out his confidence in this video from PokerStars TV that wraps up the first event of the sixth season of the European Poker Tour.
