One of the most popular of poker pros is leading the vote leaderboard to secure a seat in the 2010 WSOP Tournament Of Champions.
The World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions is an invitation only event with one big requirement – to play, you have to have won a WSOP bracelet at some point in your poker career. The man topping the popular vote list has seven.
Phil Ivey is the leader in a race that no one would be surprised if he won. The TOC organizers allow a handful of players to be voted into their TOC seats – as long as they have the requisite WSOP bracelet – and while there is plenty of room at the top, Ivey’s position seems secure.
World Series of Poker Vice President Ty Stewart said, “Phil Ivey is the top overall vote-getter for the Tournament of Champions. Certainly, he’s one of the most beloved players in the game. His performance last year and the new final table format underscore our potential in the industry.”
The WSOP TOC is scheduled for June 27th at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
