The final table which was streamed directly from the Dublin based snooker club was watched by thousands of poker fans across Europe and the live betting market attracted much attention during the five hours of play.
Martens took down €51,350 for his first place position in this exciting tournament which saw 1,388 players from all corners of the world flock to the Irish capital for a chance of sharing in a super €277,600 prize.
The tournament came to a thrilling climax, with a heads-up between Luke Martens and Paul Purcell, when Purcell made the all-in call with 5 million in chips versus Marten's 15 million.
It was Marten's 10 K v Purcell's 6 3 and the K 4 2 7 9 board meant the Dutch man took the top honour, in an early finish to the 2011 IPO.
Martens said after his victory, "The big play of the game came down to my all-in call against Rory Brown where I more or less doubled up but then just ten minutes later, I was in the middle of a game changer against Purcell which thankfully I won. "It's been a fantastic tournament from start to finish and I would have never thought that for such a small buy-in I would end up with a cheque for €51,350, it's unbelievable."
