Isabelle “no mercy” Mercier took no prisoners in the recent PokerStars sponsored Ante up for Africa event and won first place.
The charity poker event was first held at the World Series of Poker as the result of a collaboration between actor Don Cheadle and poker pro Annie Duke, capitalizing on star power in both fields to raise money to help the humanitarian efforts in Darfur.
This event had a full share of pros, actors and sports figures, all stars in their own right. In the end it was Isabelle Mercier who took down the final table, which sported players from rugby teams, actors and poker pros.
James Kyson Lee, while not one of the longer lasting in the event (couldn’t use his Heroes-based power of amplifying to boost his own skills, it seems) summed up the experience in the video below.
