There’s just over one week to go until the Irish Poker Open main event gets underway at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin and Paddy Power Poker is getting ready to host Europe’s most enjoyable poker festival.
Although the official payment gateway at
paddypowerpoker.com closes today, Wednesday 28th March, players can still buy in to the €3,500 + €300 main event online through the new holding tank in the Paddy Power Poker client – just open up the client, click on ‘Irish Open 2012’ and then ‘Direct Buy In’ to register for the tournament.
Elsewhere the final tranche of online qualifiers are underway at the site in the infamous Last Chance Saloon promotion which started Sunday March 25 and runs until Wednesday April 4. A total of 45 Irish Open seats are guaranteed across a variety of buy ins and game types each evening at 8 p.m..
Plans are also being finalised for this year’s live online stream of all the action with WSOP and WPT finalist Dan O’Brien from the USA confirmed to join regular Irish Open commentator Emmet Kennedy in the commentary booth.
Over the course of the four-day main event the pair are likely to be joined by a some of the big name players confirmed for the tournament who include Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Carlos Mortensen, Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott, Eoghan O’Dea, Neil Channing, Faraz Jaka, and Maria Ho.
The Irish Open live stream will be broadcast daily from IrishPokerOpen.com and will feature an exciting mix of table commentary and analysis, player interviews, roving reporters updating regularly from the floor, with the latest news, competitions, freerolls and much more.
Paddy Power, communications manager at the site, said, “The excitement is building and we truly believe this is going to be one of the most exciting Irish Open’s in its 30 year history. We’ve more big names, the best live streaming, scores of betting markets for everyone to have a little dabble in, and of the course the legendary Irish Open hospitality will be there in abundance.”
“With less than a week to go, if you haven’t won your seat yet, we’ve got the Last Chance Saloon with 45 seats to give away. Perhaps you could be the next Niall Smyth who spun a €10 each way bet on the horses into €650,000 when he won the event last year!
