Hansen back in the high stakes hot seat

For the past few weeks, charismatic Dane Gus Hansen had been seen grinding the $25/$50 and $50/$100 tables, after it looked like a torrid 2009 had finally dented his bankroll.

But last night he returned to the high stakes arena, occupying the $300/$600 PLO tables. In trademark, aggressive fashion, he was involved in 7 of the 10 largest pots of the night.

Playing at a 6-max table, Hansen won a monster $200k pot as he clashed with Brian Hastings, theASHMAN103 and Chau Giang. All 3 players called a $29k pre-flop raise from Hansen (K A K Q).

Hansen nailed the 10 K 10 flop with a full house. He led out for $45k on the flop, drawing a fold from Hastings and all-in from theASHMAN103 (9 10 9 6). Little did he know, but Ashton Griffin was drawing dead, as Chau Giang held 10 2 A 3. The 5, 6 on the turn and river were irrelevant and the pot went swimming over to Hansen.

Another major hand saw an incredible 4-way all between Hansen (6 7 8 9), Hastings (Q 10 Q 10), theASHMAN (A 8 A 9) and howsitfeellike (K J A 9), which generated a $155k pot. The board ran A 6 8 6 4 to give Griffin the nut full house, after Hansen's powerful wrap draw on the flop looked ominous.
