Hansen and Akenhead feature at Full Tilt

Aggressive Dane Gus Hansen and November Nine finalist James Akenhead have been grinding the $200$400 PLO games on Full Tilt Poker to good effect.

Hansen has endured a miserable 2009, with his reckless approach in volatile PLO games costing him a $2.5 million deficit. But, after spending a few weeks grinding the $25/$50 games, Hansen has returned to the nosebleed stakes arena to put in over 1,000 hands.

Hansen (8 5 4 7) scooped a $159k pot at the hands of Brian ‘tsarrast’ Rast (Q 10 10 9) and trex313 (3 5 6 10), which accounted for most of his earnings. All the money went in on a 2 8 3 flop, with the K, 7 spiking to gift Hansen two pair.

Hansen (A 2 A 10) then clashed with Rast (Q 3 4 6) when a 2 K 5 flop gifted the latter a powerful wrap draw. Both players went all in, but the K, 10 bricked to give Hansen top two pair and the $118k pot.

Meanwhile November Nine short stack Akenhead recorded a $75k winning session. He pinched a $64k pot off Hac ‘trex313’ Dang when he turned quad aces in $200/$400 PLO. The money went in on a 5 9 A flop, with Akenhead (3 A A 9) holding top set, and trex313 (Q Q 2 2) a strong flush draw. The A bricked on the turn to make the river irrelevant.
