Full Tilt pros dabble in NL Hold’em

Pot Limit Omaha may now be the game of choice amongst Full Tilt pros, but the past few days have signalled a return to grass roots and some swashbuckling NL Hold’em action.

The likes of Patrik Antonius, Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey and Phil ‘OMGClayaitken’ Galfond took to the 6-max tables, with the latter proving just why he is the most feared online NL player. Galfond, excluded from the ‘durrrr’ challenge, raked in a profit $780k profit at the $500/$1000 tables.

Phil Ivey dropped $260k, although still boasts a profit for the past few days after crushing PLO and mixed games for $480k. Ivey can consider himself unlucky in two pots, involving Galfond and Dwan.

Ivey opened for $3k UTG with Ah Ac, receiving a call from Galfond (10 10). To his disappointment, no player 3-bet and Cole South and Dwan also limped in. Ivey led out for $10k on a 10 Q 2 board, receiving a call from Galfond. A $25k bet on the turn (3) prompted an all in from Galfond. Ivey called and the 6 brick on the river shipped the $306k pot to Galfond.

Ivey also lost a $180k pot to Dwan in unfortunate circumstances. On a 3 Q 10 board Ivey held Q10 for top two pair, and called Dwan’s all in (K K). The 3 on the river paired the board and gifted the pot to Dwan.

Aaron ‘aejones’ Jones was the other major winner, recording a $600k winning session over 900 hands. He scooped a $370k pot at the hands of Swedish sensation ‘martonas’. Jones flat called a $12k raise pre-flop with A 10, and connected heavily with the 10 5 A flop, hitting top two pair. With the turn 8 and river 7, Jones led out on all streets, provoking a call down from 'martonas', who elected to muck his cards.

DIN_FRU, believed to be $50k HORSE final tableist Erik Sagstrom, has had a disastrous few days, finding himself $1 million in the red. Most of his losses have come in Full Tilt Poker’s new ‘7-game’.
