Phil Ivey succumbed in a $1.1 million dollar pot to Tom Dwan in the Full Tilt Million Dollar Cash Game, but recorded an $800k winning session online last night.
The Million Dollar Cash Game, which will air in January on Sky Sports, featured a bevy of Full Tilt pros including Mike Matusow, Gus Hansen and Patrik Antonius. But it was Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey who waged the war to end all wars. All the money went in on a Q-3-5-4 board, with Ivey tabling A-2, and Dwan 6-7 for the nut straight. Dwan has now captured the two largest pots in televised poker history, after he out manoeuvred wily veteran Barry Greenstein in a $919k pot.
Meanwhile, Ivey and Ziigmund engaged in several monster coinflips to satisfy their insatiable gambling appetite. The two players moved all in pre-flop, regardless of their hands, with Ivey winning eight of the twelve ‘flips’. Ivey (3

The largest ‘real’ pot saw Ivey scoop $240k. All the money went in on a 7

bricked on the turn to give the hot-headed Finn two outs. The Q
on the river handed the pot over to Ivey. It was a disastrous night for Ziigmund, as he dropped $1.3 million in the volatile PLO arena.
Phil Galfond was another big winner, amassing just under $800k. He won a $430k pot at the expense of Urindaner and Gus Hansen. A trademark, all action Omaha flop – K

Full Tilt Poker is being littered with lawsuits at the moment, as Jason ‘JDN’ Newitt is claiming he was, ‘he was unfairly fired and that his distribution payments were unfairly ceased. Defendants then took control of his ownership’, according to the Nevada court system. Newitt is famous for leaking Howard Lederer’s decision not to hire Jimmy Fricke as a Full Tilt pro. Newitt accidentally forwarded an email to Fricke where major Full Tilt shareholder Lederer called Fricke a ‘freak’ and ‘kind of a weird guy’. The lawsuit comes on the back of Brandon McSmith suing NBC’s Face the Ace for stealing his amateur v pro concept.
