PokerStars TV has come up with another gem – the Katy Perry video, Waking Up In Vegas.
I don’t know how well Katy Perry plays poker, but the video for her song Waking Up In Vegas shows what has to be the baddest beat in history.
Of course, the fact that she is losing to Daniel Negreanu in his fun cameo appearance may suggest the Poker Kid is behind the poker sophistication.
In the video Katy and her beau are on a roll, living life to the fullest, kicking Penn and Teller out of their suite, being wined and dined by the casino execs, etc. They can’t lose, winning at all manner of games, including crushing Negreanu in poker.
But as their luck begins to turn we see a wonderful moment where Perry, holding two aces (hearts and clubs), is all in with Danny, who is holding the ten and queen of spades. A flop of the jack of spades and the kings of spades and clubs takes her top pair hand ahead to two pair.
The turn is the ace of diamonds, turning her two pair into a full house. A one- outer of the aces of spades is all that would save Danny – and it comes on the river, giving Katy an even better hand of quad aces, but giving the Kid a royal flush and the win.
