Betfair poker operations move to Ongame Network

CrunchPoker Staff - 14 Jul 2010

Betfair has agreed to move its poker operations to the Ongame Network from the end of July onwards.

Betfair are celebrating the move with a $500,000 Betfair Poker 2 launch party -join the firm now to celebrate the evolution of their poker room.

The move signals the end of a three year spell that has seen the firm attempt a stand-alone site and despite the fact their poker site ranks as the 16th biggest of its kind (pokerscout.com), it has never built on the early growth that was evident in the early stages of their launch.

Betfair’s head of poker Daniel Svard explained:  'We are happy with where we are at the moment, but we want to improve the things we are doing already.

'The question is wow do we go beyond good? And the move to a network is what is best for Betfair as a business right now,' he added.

The signing of Betfair represents a massive deal for the Ongame Network and it should ensure that the operation begins to close in on the iPoker network which is currently the world’s largest network operator.

'Betfair is the ideal kind of long-term partner for Ongame Network: a respected gaming brand and technically mature,' explained Martin Lerby, Head of Ongame Network.

'In our competitive industry, we welcome the player liquidity and poker knowledge that Betfair brings to our network.'
