Antonius and Jedlicka star in Full Tilt high stakes

Young Austrian pro Niki ‘Kaibuxxe’ Jedlicka returned to the crux of high stakes action after a two year hiatus, facing the likes of Patrik Antonius and Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan on Full Tilt Poker.

Jedlicka, who shot to fame in 2007 when he made an annual profit of $3.5 million, has been chancing his luck in the $200/400 $300/600 nosebleed games over the past few days.

Patrik Antonius, usually so measured at the tables, sacrificed a monster pot after an outrageous bluff was snuffed out by the canny Austrian. On a Jc 8s 3d 9s 10s, Jedlicka held Qs 10c 6s 4h for a Q-high flush. Antonius, holding As Ah 9h 7d for just a pair of aces, fired a $234,000 re-raise on the river, only to be looked up by Jedlicka. It was a gutsy call, with Antonius no doubt trying to represent the nut flush. The Finn was able to restore some parity, as he clinched a $234,600 pot hours later. On a 3s 8h Ks 10s 2h board Antonius flipped 9d As 7h 9s for the nuts, with Jedlicka mucking his hand.

Di ‘Urindanger’ Dang was another significant winner, as he prevailed in a 3-way pot with British PLO pro Richard Ashby and Cardrunners legend Brian Townsend. On a 10h 8d 4s board, Dang held Ah Qc 10c 10d for top set, and with two bricks on the turn and river, Ashby’s Ac Kc Kd 4d and Townsend’s Qd 9d 7d 6c wrap failed to improve.

This week’s biggest losers include Patrik Antonius (-$694,000) and Gus Hansen (-$591,000), with Niki Jedlicka (+$1,548,000) the big winner.
