PokerStars joins elite in Estonia

CrunchPoker Staff - 7 Oct 2010

In the ongoing battle to claim turf in the online world of poker, PokerStars has scored a victory by being one of the first online poker rooms to be granted an operational license in Estonia.

While this move was predicated by August’s granting of an activity license by Estonia, the operational license was still a needed step for PokerStars to launch the new PokerStars platform, PokerStars.ee.

The new site complies fully with Estonian law so that the country's residents can play at PokerStars in cash games, tourneys and qualifiers for live events such as the PokerStars European Poker Tour.

"There are thousands of good poker players in Estonia,” said PokerStars Nordic & Baltic Director of Marketing, Michael Holmberg, “and I am very glad that the license enables them to continue competing at the largest poker site with players all over the world."
