Yet another top flight pro has joined the list of celebrity poker players to attend the PartyPoker Premier League IV.
PartyPoker and Matchroom Sport have announced that 11 time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth has joined the line-up for PartyPoker.com Premier League IV in Las Vegas, with the main event running from the 12th – 18th February 2010. Phil Hellmuth has joined a line-up that also includes defending champion JC Tran and Yevgeniy Timoshenko.
Hellmuth said: “I am looking forward to playing in the Premier League and starting the new decade off on the right note!
After being points leader in the Premier League in 2006, 2007 and 2008 I was relegated, and it is time to step up and claim a title!”
This year PartyPoker.com ran qualifiers to find a total of 16 players who all fly out to Las Vegas to play in a Premier League Poker play-off to see which one of the 16 will be lucky enough to join 11 professional players in Premier League Poker IV. The lucky online qualifiers will play a short series of play-off sit & go’s in Las Vegas and the eventual winner will win a $100,000 buy-in to take part in the main Premier League event! Both the play-off and the main event will be filmed for TV and shown across the world. One amazing element of this promotion that provides a truly fantastic opportunity is that one of the 16 qualifiers will be chosen by PartyPoker to receive a $100,000 Team Party contract to be a sponsored player. The main qualifiers are over, but there is still a chance to qualify through country specific qualifiers. See the specials tab in the PartyPoker.com lobby for more information.
JC Tran won PartyPoker.com Premier League III after taking down the most formidable final table in the event’s history! Tran, widely regarded as one of the finest and consistent tournament professionals on the circuit scooped the $300,000 first prize in the elite tournament that saw 12 of the world’s finest players battle it out for a $1.25 million prize pool!
